TODAY

MEDITATION or THOUGHT:

There are two days in the week about which I never worry; two carefree days, kept sacredly free from fear and apprehension.

One of these days is yesterday.

Yesterday, with all of its cares and frets and pains and aches, all its faults, its mistakes and blunders, has passed forever beyond my recall.

It was mine. Now it is Gods.

The other day in which I do not worry about, is Tomorrow.

Tomorrow, with all of its possible adversities, its burdens and mistakes are as far beyond my mastery as its dead sister, Yesterday.

Tomorrow is Gods day; it will be mine.

There is left then, for myself, one day out of the week. TODAY.

Any man or woman can fight the battles of today.

ANYONE can carry the burdens of just ONE day, and anyone can resist the temptation of today.

It is only when we willfully add the burdens of these two awful entities, Yesterday and Tomorrow---such burden that only the mighty God can sustain---that we break down.IT ISNT THE EXPERIENCE OF TODAY THAT DRIVES MEN MAD.

It is the remorse of what happened yesterday, and the fear of what Tomorrow might bring. These are God's days---leave them to Him.

Exerpt from the Miracle of Chnage by Dennis Wholey, and originally written by Roger Jones Burdette in "The Golden Day".

I needed that! Today...I'll battle laundry and the boys room! And pray Cameron has a good day with the behavior and allergy detox! Tomorrow will come tomorrow!

Remorse over yesterday is so self-defeating. You can do nothing to change what already was, so why obsess? This is a very hard thing for me to practice. But I'm working on it :)
